I like work that makes a difference after the meeting ends.
I’m Resul Caner Yildirim—though most people call me Caner. I’m a UX Principal and product designer with 12+ years of experience.
My career has taken me through fintech, banking, travel and digital products. The common thread is usually complexity: many moving parts, real constraints and people who need a product to make sense quickly.
Today, I’m at Backbase, where I lead 10 designers across the Middle East. I enjoy the practical part of leadership: helping people build confidence, make sound decisions and do work they can stand behind.
I’m based in Amsterdam, originally from Istanbul—a city that taught me to notice the energy, contradictions and human detail in every place.

Community
Community has been a meaningful part of my practice.
I have contributed to design and developer communities as a speaker, organiser and mentor. I was a Google Developers Expert in Product Design from 2016 to 2019 and helped organise GDG Istanbul from 2013 to 2022.
I also mentor through ADPList and have supported startups through Google Developers Launchpad. Sharing practical experience is a small way to keep the field generous.
